Car history:
1971 Corvette. I purchased her over two years ago in completely original condition with 56K miles. I like original, but I'm more of a custom man myself so I pulled the stock 350/270 horse motor for safekeeping (it is included) and I bought a 383 stroker motor with 460 horse from www.enginefactory.com. You can look at all the specs of the motor on their website. I got a Zoom clutch and serpentine belt system also. The engine bay was painted before installation of the new motor and all kinds of new parts and chrome everything! She's a real beauty under the hood. It has the stock M21 4-speed tranny and 3:36 rear end, but all new suspension from front to back including polyurathane bushings, shocks, rear fiberglass shock, control arms, etc. Wheels are chrome from Coys-17x8's with 255/50 rubber all the way around and they have just over 1000 miles on them. Handles like a go-cart in the corners! New leather seat covers, carpet, floormats, working clock, and updated stereo with Alpine CD player, 2-Infinity speakers in the dash with 2-Alpine 6x9's on one 4 channel Alpine amp and 2-10 inch Alpine subwoofers in a box with an Alpine amp. The system is loud cause those sidepipes get really loud too. Color is Steel Cities Gray and has some spots here and there that could use attention but nothing major. There were only 1591 total vettes this color in '71 and Chevrolet only made this color for '71 and '72 so you don't see many of them. This car only came with a few options including tilt/tele steering wheel, and power steering. It does not have power brakes although it's 4 wheel disk and they stop well. It does not have AC or power windows. The car runs and drives very well and I would have no worries about going long distances without overheating, etc. I went to a car show in Dallas and put about 800 miles on her without any problems. She is ready to hit the car shows or do whatever you like but I can't keep her right now. If I were to keep her there are only two things I think she needs to be an even sweeter ride. First, a Tremec 5 speed trans. This would make a huge difference in not only gas milage, but easier on the motor with lower RPM's and faster take offs and shifts. The 4 speed is only 37 years old and had better days! Second, I would go to a different rear end gear. With the Tremec, maybe 3:90's so she would really get it! Add those and your ready for the magazines!
